The Corner Note Cafe Reviews

We know the Corner Note as breakfast Cafe but were in for our first dinner for two because we were drawn to the cosy candle light atmosphere and the small but tasty sounding menu. Spent a wet and windy date night there and loved it! Romantic atmo, food (fish tacos, schnitzel and fish stew, chocolate mousse) were all so tasty and the service really attentive and lovely. Great addition to Dalkeys dinner scene on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Ate here this morning, we loved it. Had the Shakshuka, first time trying it but the waiter made it sound so nice I had to try it, delicious. The missus had the poached eggs and avocado. Never got the waiters name but he was excellent, was quite busy but still took the time to answer our 50 questions. Will definitely be back soon.

Upon entry there were many tables available and the guy still asked us if we had booking.

The place looks good from the outside and very sunny. It is maybe good for breakfast but when we arrived it was over and we had to order lunch, the most appealing from the menu to us was the steak sandwich, when it arrived was already disappointing, nothing like the pictures in the other reviews, the “steak” was all connective tissue, we ordered 2 and both were the same, it is not hard to make a good steak sandwich which is why we were so surprised, such a pity cause the place is in a great location.

The coffee was good, I would recommend the place for a coffee and enjoy the sunshine, but avoid the food.

We had an incredible dinner at The Corner Note last night! The recent renovation has turned the dining room into such a cozy, inviting space. Our waitress was wonderful and gave us fantastic recommendations—so good, in fact, that we couldn't decide and ended up sharing three starters. Every single one was delicious, but the Sneem black pudding flatbread was the absolute star of the show.
Our mains were just as impressive, but what really elevated the evening was the unhurried, welcoming hospitality. After dinner, the team happily let us take our wine outside to relax before ordering dessert a bit later. Speaking as someone who isn't usually a dessert person, it might have actually been my favorite part of the meal. Having been a regular for brunch over the years, I'm so thrilled they’re now open for dinner. They are doing an outstanding job, and I already can't wait to return!

We had a great dinner at The Cornernote. We popped in on a whim after noticing the cosy, candle-lit room and were really well looked after from the moment we sat down.
The staff were genuinely attentive and happy to talk us through a really well thought-out menu. The food was excellent — the beef ragù and roast chicken with ratatouille were standouts, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Desserts were just as good, especially the bread and butter pudding with a citrus twist.
It has that relaxed, modern neighbourhood feel — easygoing but done properly. Dalkey has plenty of great spots, but this is one you’ll definitely come back to.
